Kathryn and Karsen KNOW how to throw a party, absolutely no detail was spared! Their summer wedding in Texas was ALL things sophisticated, classy and FUN.
Their venue, Deep in The Heart Farms is located in Brenham, Texas and the surrounding area is stunnnnning. Green grass, blue skies, and gorgeous trees. You really feel like you’re tucked away in the country, but you’re conveniently only 45 minutes from College Station or Katy. Deep in the Heart Farms is 150 acres of rolling hills with a seasonal creek, majestic oaks, and stunning sunsets. The beautiful and intimate ceremony held was held inside the chapel with gigantic windows. The black and white exterior of the building perfectly matched with the sophisticated aesthetic of their day.
A first for me as a photographer – at the reception, there was LITERALLY a fire on the dance floor. A big gust of wind came through the doors and knocked over their sweetheart table. The candles and flowers combo went up in flamessss. It was WILD. The groomsmen quickly stomped it out while the DJ played ‘Fire Burning’ by Sean Kingston LOL. It was scary, yet hilarious, and definitely didn’t stop the party from continuing!
Later in the night everyone’s favorite, Whataburger chicken biscuits, were served on the dance floor. I LOVE the photos of Karsen feeding her fries. Whataburger, plz sponsor all of my weddings. To pair with the biscuits, they had espresso martinis for everyone – so freaking fun!! It was a GOOD night.
Kathryn + Karson forever!
A WORD FROM THE BRIDE AND GROOM:
What is your FAVORITE memory or moment from your wedding day?
I absolutely loved the moment that all of our scheduled events were done and we just got to dance with our best friends! There was so much joy and laughter and all of the stress was gone. I also loved our last dance. We felt really connected in that moment, it was the first time we were alone together to process that we were actually husband and wife!
What is one piece of advice you would give to future brides planning their wedding?
Don’t drink too much at your rehearsal dinner LOL. But in reality, don’t spend so much time stressing on the little things. I do think details matter, but you really won’t care which color frame is on your welcome table when all is said and done. Also don’t leave any tasks for the week of the wedding – that way you can fully enjoy every moment of the most exciting weekend with all of your people! Everyone says it goes by fast but it really goes by SO FAST. Put yourself in guest-mode rather than host-mode and have a blast.
How did you feel when looking through your final Wedding Gallery?
It was almost an out-of-body experience! I honestly felt like I blacked out for half the wedding day with so much going on, so it was wonderful to look through all the moments and get to reminisce.
